POSITION SUMMARY: The Loan Servicing Paid Discharge position is a vital role within our organization, responsible for managing the loan discharge process, including paid release document preparation, lien discharge, and insurance policy cancellation. By collaborating with internal teams and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, this position contributes to the efficient operation of our loan servicing department. With a focus on attention to detail and effective communication, the Specialist plays a key role in providing exceptional service to our borrowers while maintaining the integrity of our loan servicing procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and send timely and accurate discharge documents to borrowers upon loan payoff, adhering to regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
- Collaborate with loan officers and internal teams to verify loan payoff details and address any issues.
- Provide assistance and guidance to borrowers and or title companies throughout the loan discharge process, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Ensure the cancellation of any applicable life insurance policies associated with paid-off loans, following established cancellation procedures.
- Work closely with various counties and state agencies to resolve any issues related to lien release, ensuring compliance with local regulations and requirements.
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date records of loan discharge transactions and related documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Verify and update the core system for any mortgage discharge and UCC fees to streamline and facilitate payoff quotes
- Work on any exception or rejected discharges or terminations from CSC
- Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to loan servicing and documentation.
- Maintain courteous and professional interactions with all staff members.
- Successfully pass technical and regulatory examinations mandated by the Company.
- Acquire proficiency in other functions within the Loan Servicing department to offer additional assistance as needed.
- Perform any other duties within the same physical and mental scope as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks by organizing and setting priorities.
- High School Diploma
- Paralegal Certification preferred
- 7 years of banking experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
- Some travel is required.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
- Consistently operates a computer and other office machinery such as calculator, copy machine and printers.
- Climate controlled general office setting with moderate noise level.
- Must express or exchange ideas and meaning with co-workers, supervisors, customers and vendors.
