The Contract Department has an immediate need for a Contracts Associate who will partner with the team in managing all contract drafting/negotiation efforts. As a member of this very busy department, the Contracts Associate will be responsible for:

Draft/negotiate author and artist agreements, quitclaims, NDA’s, etc. across all ABRAMS imprints
Generate, distribute, and follow up on Cease & Desist letters and as well as take down notifications
Handle requests for reversion of rights
Assist Contracts team in drafting/negotiating agreement amendments
Provide frequent status updates on all open/pending contracts
Partner with other Contracts Department staff to ensure that the team operates efficiently

Requirements:

2-3+ years of experience (in a publishing company or related field)
Contracts experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Agile self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the Contracts Team and across departments
Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
