POSITION SUMMARY: The Information Technology Manager manages the day to day operations of the information technology department. This includes supervising the activities of IT staff members. This position is responsible for ensuring that the staff complete their daily checklists including the documentation, research and resolution of any operational issues that surface while performing these tasks while providing appropriate escalation as needed. The ideal candidate will also be able to provide management of projects, vendors, and partnerships as they relate to the Bank’s technology initiatives. This position provides continuous management and leadership to the IT staff with the overall goal of maintaining a cohesive and cooperative work environment.
This position is responsible for managing the bank’s various team and vendors (applications, infrastructure, data, information security, hosted network services, SaaS, etc) Ensuring that the operations of services, server machines, core operating software, application performance, and connectivity between local and remote sites that utilize LAN and WAN based connections, servers, switches and routers are operating at optimum capacity and responsiveness. The Manager is responsible for communicating with the Bank’s vendors to resolve issues around system and service uptime availability, automation, and must respond at all times and act quickly to resolve with said vendor any problems that arise which jeopardize the clients ability to interact with the business products or an employee’s ability to interact with the business systems.
This position should have a strong understanding of the Bank’s applications, network infrastructure, technology related processes/workflows, and the importance of keeping the Bank’s supporting documentation up to date. The Manager must develop a comprehensive understanding of the organization's software and hardware systems and be able to anticipate, identify and articulate problem areas and develop preventative and proactive solutions in a timely and efficient manner. In addition, must be able to work with a high degree of independence on projects and day to day requests with little or no precedent and resolve complex problems quickly. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide day to day management and leadership to eight technicians in the IT department.
- Maintain an open line of communication to the Bank’s major vendors in particular Jack Henry and Associates ensuring the bank’s network and systems are operating at full capacity and speed.
- Manage ongoing staff meetings with IT staff ensuring that the lines of communication remain open among the team.
- Support the audit processes the Bank participates in regularly.
- Provide frequent updates to the Bank’s management team especially if the team or the vendor is troubleshooting an issue.
- Assume the lead role in the implementation of all IT related projects, system upgrades and other initiatives.
- Manage the bank’s vendors who are responsible for supporting existing network infrastructure including all WAN, LAN, and Wireless configurations.
- Review resource monitoring, performance tuning, and scaling of infrastructure tools. Coordinate changes as needed with third party vendor. Implement and engineer solutions based on business needs.
- Lead IT project initiatives encompassing design and budget considerations.
- Maintain and support a mix of vendor equipment.
- Provide technical expertise needed to resolve complex issues.
- Decrease downtime and risk exposure from virus/spam.
- Work with IT staff to perform upgrades and modifications on the various banking software applications.
- Review Information Security related portals and support the investigation of flagged events.
- Review Gladiator vault and dashboard. Work with the vendor to remediate issues.
- Review system, service, and application dashboards to be sure that the team is addressing items as expected. Monitor Track-IT database and proactively provide technical assistance to internal users.
- Interface with vendors to research issues and complete project tasks.
- Ensure that documentation is always current and properly reflects the bank’s infrastructure details.
- Successfully pass technical and regulatory examinations required by the Company.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Exceptional management, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail when creating technical documentation, assessing performance, and team management.
- Knowledge about banking compliance and the regulatory responsibilities around information security best practices required.
- 5+ years of prior work experience with information technology systems.
- 5+ years of technical administration with demonstrated experience.
- Working knowledge of multiple technology areas including banking applications, network equipment, firewalls, VPN, WAN technologies, Virtualization software, and Windows operating systems.
- Positive attitude, customer oriented, and good communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent project and time management skills.
- Proven ability to function as team member for multiple simultaneous activities.
- Flexibility to provide support during off hours.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
- Some travel is required.
- Must be available outside of hours for emergencies or other management/escalation needs.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work unpredictable hours, including weekends.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Must express or exchange ideas and meaning with co-workers, supervisors, customers and vendors.
